Careers.
We seek out new perspectives and the people who carry them.
Join WUA
WUA is hiring across both Design and Tech. We are looking for talented people who can hold the dual identity the studio is built on: practitioners and researchers, designers and tool-builders, the same people on the same projects. We hire for curiosity, capability, and the willingness to work across disciplines. Specific experience matters; specific schools do not. The studio operates in seven languages across London, Riyadh, and Shanghai. A second language beyond English is useful but not required.

Working at WUA
We work across disciplines. Design and research are not separate departments here. The people who design buildings also build the tools that produce them, and the questions raised in one feed directly into the other. Most of the team hold more than one role; most projects move between them.
We understand the tools we use. We would rather build a tool than treat one as a black box. When the software we need does not exist, we make it — and we expect the people who use our tools to understand how they work, and why.
We share what we know. Knowledge kept private is a liability; knowledge shared is craft. We teach, we publish, and we hand work to whoever can carry it furthest. We expect the same in return.
We treat the practice as a design problem. The studio itself is something we are still designing — its structure, its tools, its way of working. We take its development as seriously as any commission, and we expect everyone to have a view on how it should evolve.
Internships. We offer paid internships to talented students from a range of schools. Interns work on live projects with mentorship from senior members of the studio and contribute to the same deliverables as junior team members. The intent is reciprocal. We host you for what you bring, not just for what you can take away. The studio learns from each cohort.
